Aug-2 Vikas Marg to be completely blocked, as city braces for VH:

Vikas Marg to be blocked

This advisory comes amid the VHP (Vishwa Hindu Parishad) as they have planned agitations across Delhi as a mark of protest that took over communal clashes which broke out in Nuh Haryana on Monday.

An advisory is issued by the Delhi traffic police for all the commuters travelling from Ghaziabad to Delhi or even those using the Delhi-Meerut expressway and going towards the ITO. Vikas Marg was completely blocked given a protest at Nirman Vihar metro station red light and even advised all the commuters coming from Ghaziabad to Delhi or using the Delhi- Meerut express to instead use NH-24 and those coming from Vivek Vihar were advised to take Nala Road for TIO.

The advisory came amidst the activist of VHP (Vishwa Hindu Parishad) and Bajrang Dal who held multiple protests at several places on Wednesday in Delhi against the communal violence in Nuh Haryana and Gurugram. The police department has even beefed-up security at extremely sensitive places in India in the wake of the clashes in neighbouring Haryana. The protest by VHP and Bajrang Dal caused extreme traffic jams at Vikas Marg which also connects east Delhi to all the central parts of Delhi.

Keeping in view the violence caused in Haryana adjoining Delhi, extreme security arrangements were made at all the sensitive places in Delhi and additional police forces were also been deployed wherever felt necessary. They warned that any attempt to harm Delhi’s security and communal harmony would be dealt with extreme strictness.

Due to the protest at Red Light Vikas Marg was to be completely blocked from 8 A.M onwards. Traffic was affected on the outer ring road in the carriage away from Deepali Chowk toward Madhuban Chowk. There was an obstruction seen in the traffic on Vande Mataram Marg in the carriage away from Dhaula Kuan flyover towards Hanuman Marti which is near buddha garden.

On Tuesday evening fresh violence broke out after a mob set fire to one of the eatery and vandalized adjoining shops in Gurugram’s Badshahpur. Meanwhile, the Delhi police have beefed up patrolling and security in the city after the communal clashes found in Haryana. Since the security was increased, the rapid action force conducted a flag march on Wednesday.

According to a senior police officer, the Delhi police keep a tab on all the incidents in neighboring states as well as the other parts of the country that may lead to a heavy impact on Delhi.
